APRE, the Agency for the Promotion of European Research, is a non-profit research organization.
For over twenty-five years, APRE, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), has provided its members as well as businesses, government agencies, and private individuals, information, support and assistance for participation in national and European programmes and collaborative initiatives (today, with particular reference to Horizon 2020) in the field of Research, Technological Development and Innovation (RTDI) and in the transfer of research results.
APRE hosts all Italian National Contact Points "NCPs" for the EU Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for R&I. NCP are appointed by the Italian Ministry for Higher Education and Research.
NCPs in APRE offer information and assistance services for free such as:
- Guidance on choosing thematic priorities and instruments
- Advice on financial aspects and on administrative procedures.
- Training and assistance on proposal writing (including pre-screening)
Furthermore APRE is currently coordinator of Access4SMEs, the Eu Network of H2020 SMEs and Access to finance National Contact Point:

The EEN2EIC (Enterprise Europe Network to European Innovation Council) project aims to extend the breadth of supporting activities EEN can provide to women entrepreneurs, widening countries and Seal of Excellence (SoE) holders. The goal is to create a bridge between the two projects in order to support innovation, scale up companies and involve the most relevant actors in the EIC and EEN landscape.
