Happy to see that  Tunisian ed-tech startup GoMyCode has raised a US$8 million Series A funding round to drive its expansion plans across Africa and the Middle East. AfricInvest, through its Cathay AfricInvest Innovation Fund (CAIF) and French-based development finance institution Proparco, co-led the early-growth round.

The Tunisia-based start-up is an educational platform that trains talents on digital skills and connects them with tech opportunities around the world.

In partnership with Bond’innov, the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) of Toyota Tsusho & CFAO Group have launched the 2022 Digital Transformation Challenge.

The most promising startups will have the opportunity to meet the group's investment teams for tickets starting at €100K. They will also be able to participate in a major entrepreneurial event by the end of August 2022, as part of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).

​La Tunisie serait parmi les meilleurs pays africains pour les startups. C’est ce qui ressort du premier rapport African Tech Ecosystems of the Future 2021/2022 publié par la fDi Intelligence.

D’après les données collectées lors de cette étude, la Tunisie se classe au 5ème rang des pays les plus propices au développement de startups. 

La Tunisie a été classée au premier rang de l’indicateur cost effectiveness, et au troisième rang pour le capital humain et le style de vie.

La Tunisie s’est également distinguée dans la catégorie de la convivialité des affaires et a été active dans l’innovation politique dans ce domaine. Le pays a été le pionnier de la réglementation des startups avec l’introduction d’une loi sur les startups en 2018. Des actes similaires sont actuellement mis en œuvre dans toute l’Afrique.

Dans le cadre du projet "Startups et PMEs Innovantes", la Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations (CDC), Smart Capital : L'opérateur national du Start-Up ACT, la Banque Mondiale (BM), et la GIZ ont annoncé Mardi 23 Mars 2021 le lancement officiel du Fonds de Fonds ANAVA avec un premier closing (dernière étape de levée de fonds) de 40 millions d’euros. Soit la contre-valeur de 130 millions de dinars.

C’est l’un des piliers clés de l’initiative nationale Start-up Tunisia. Elle ambitionne de faire de la Tunisie un pays de Start-up à la croisée de la Méditerranée, de la région MENA et de l’Afrique.

Le fonds des fonds contribuera à la promotion et au financement des start-up et entreprises innovantes. Le fonds des fonds permettra de créer de la richesse de façon inclusive, de générer des emplois à forte valeur ajoutée. Ce mécanisme permettra  de promouvoir l’esprit d'initiative, notamment, chez les jeunes en Tunisie.

Startups Without Borders a publié son premier indice d'attractivité des programmes VISA pour startups 2020 présentant leur classement des pays avec les visas startup les plus attractifs.

Pour un classement objectif, l'indice était basé sur 3 catégories de scores complémentaires, à savoir l'environnement des affaires, la maturité de l'écosystème et le programme de visa lui-même.

La Tunisie est classée 23éme sur une liste de 30 pays à la pointe du numérique et le digital, alors qu’elle se classe première dans la région Afrique et Moyen-Orient via son Start-Up ACT.

Selon le communiqué du ministère des Technologies et de la Communication,

 «La loi sur les startups a de nouveau émergé à l’échelle internationale après avoir remporté le prix du meilleur programme pour la catégorie« Climat des affaires »au SMSI (Sommet mondial sur la société de l’information) et au Forum de l’Union internationale des télécommunications.
